Session 1: Food is Fuel
Our bodies are engines and food is the fuel that keeps them running. Different foods affect us in different ways - some foods keep us going longer than others, some contain stuff that's good for us, some - not so much! We explore the concept of food. What do we consider a healthy balanced diet and what are the bare necessities for us to survive using the core scientific principles of nutrition, metabolism and respiration.
Session 2 : Food Finder
We all shop for food. We appreciate that some foods are cheaper than others. Do we really understand where our food comes from? Could we find it ourselves if we had to? In this session we explore the principles of foraging and local food sourcing and the basics of clean food preparation as well as outlining the social benefits of organic farming and how best to reduce food waste by making the most of what we have.
Session 3 : Can We Eat It?
Designed as a follow up from Session 3, we delve further into food foraging concentrating on the safety aspects. We explore methods of food preparation in a real life survival scenario, our hunters will have the opportunity to go searching for their own dinner, trying some natural delicacies as well as preparing a dish.
Session 4 : Too Much Food
We all know that healthy eating is a key factor to a healthy lifestyle and there are times when we eat too much. This session looks at the consequences of over eating and symptoms of obesity. We also explore the causes and concerns surrounding the social acceptance of being over-weight looking at different body types and shapes.

Session 5 : Too Little Food
Here we explore what happens when we do not eat enough. We discuss the causes and effects of society pressure as well as providing a potential discussion point around eating disorders and body image issues.
We will also provide an insight into famine and it's effects in developing and non-developed countries.

Session 6 : Fabulous Food Heroes
This session puts into action, all we have learned in this module. Using real life scenarios, we challenge our heroes to survive by problem solving and making their own decisions in order to stay alive!
